"Who" can hire/fire the person holding the Lead Link Role in GCC (in HolacracyOne) ?

Hi, I am in the process of designing a viable partnership & investment incentive for my startup (Action Mark) which needs to take into account Holacracy as its Governance. After some initial designing, I quickly discovered that it's very similar to what HolacracyOne already has - as described in the Operating Agreement. Glad someone beat me to it. (just like how I discovered Holacracy in the first place)

Some questions I still have regarding the power structure:

1. "Who" can hire/fire the person holding the Lead Link Role in GCC (for example, in HolacracyOne) ?  The Board?

2. How is the Board elected? (Through holders of Class C units?)

2. Where can we find simple work examples on how to set up new businesses with Holacracy, including investment & partnership compensation schemes? I am familiar with the Badge Based Compensation. It's more geared towards rewarding early partners and angle investors. Or is this knowledge currently locked inside the heads of Holacracy experts?

Hi Yang,

Chapter 5 of the Constitution will give you a few landmarks... You may also refer to the Holacracy Book.

  1. The LL of the GCC is appointed by the LL of the anchor circle (or, if any LL, by the anchor circle through an IDM process decision).
  2. Up to you to create the Anchor Circle from the existing board. Each member will have to ratify the constitution.
  3. Actually, your questions sound to be... tensions. Seems you need to build the proper apps to fit your needs.

Hope that helps,
Jean-Michel

Hi Yang,

Re your second question, and to add on Jean-Michel's comment, I would recommend you refer to Art.5 of the Constitution. So in the case an Anchor Circle acts without a Lead Link, the Ratifiers create one or more initial Cross Links to the Anchor Circle in lieu of a Lead Link.  So it's up to the Ratifiers to figure out that.

Curious to get some more news from you as you go.

Also note the answer Jean-Michel gave is about removing from the role, not firing, which is a different matter in Holacracy...

Thank you all for the explanation. That clears my question.

Will update you. Though it might take some time. It's still an one-man-army at the moment
